Has pasado horas escaneando los estantes de tiendas de mascotas y buscando en línea hasta que finalmente lo encontraste – la cama perfecta para tu perro. Es suave y acogedora, pero lo suficientemente resistente para soportar las garras afiladas de un perro. Tiene el tamaño y la forma correcta para tu mascota y combina perfectamente con tu decoración. El problema – ¡tu perro no quiere dormir en ella!

El problema surge de la naturaleza territorial del perro. ¿Alguna vez has notado que tu perro da vueltas durante aproximadamente un minuto en su cama antes de decidir acostarse? Los perros hacen esto para esparcir su aroma y enviar el mensaje claro a otros perros "¡Esta cama es mía!". Cuando se introduce una cama nueva, un perro puede ser suspicaz y esperar que su cama vieja, o su "territorio", regrese pronto. También pueden retirarse a áreas que huelen fuertemente a su "manada", como la habitación donde duermes.
Aunque no puedas hacer que la cama nueva se vea exactamente como la vieja, puedes hacer que huela familiar. Una solución popular es colocar ropa vieja que hayas usado sobre la cama para animar a tu perro a identificarla contigo y con la seguridad. Las mantas y juguetes que huelen a tu perro también pueden convencer a tu perro de que la cama no es tan extraña después de todo.
Otra idea ingeniosa es colocar una sábana sobre la cama vieja. Permite que tu perro duerma en ella con normalidad, permitiendo que el olor de la cama y tu perro se filtren en las fibras. Después de un tiempo, saca la cama nueva y guarda la antigua. Coloca la misma sábana sobre la cama nueva, disfrazándola en términos de olor y apariencia de tu cachorro. Dobla gradualmente la sábana cada vez más hasta que cubra solo una fracción de la cama nueva – luego retírala completamente. ¡Voilà! Tu perro estará durmiendo profundamente en su nuevo colchón en poco tiempo.

I have tried all of the ideas listed here, and my stubborn beagle is still protesting not to sleep on the bed. He will walk on it and get off. He has his blanket on top which I didn't change. I've stepped on the bed with my feet and left some kibble and still 4 nights later we haven't made progress. Help please......
I read somewhere that you throw a treat onto the dog bed and when your dog gets the treat you say a command word (bed, place, spot, etc.). Then wait until the dog walks away and do it again 7-10 times in a row repeating the command word.
You can also try telling your dog to lay down in the bed and giving them a treat when they do and praise them.
Another thing to try is limiting any other options other than their bed by putting up barriers to force them to use the next best thing which is their bed. You can also try putting the bed near the TV so the dog can see you when you’re watching tv or wherever you’re hanging out because if the bed is in a separate room they feel separated from the “pack”.

My suggestion to you would first be to put a couple of your shirts on his bed that you've already worn and if that doesn't work try sitting in the bed with him in your lap maybe it'll calm him down enough and make him like it good luck

He never liked beds. We bought a top of the line - still doesn't want it. We bought it because of age etc. He just won't take it. He scratches and scratches the carpet.
We bought our dog a new bed she will not go near it. I even put her old worn out bed on top so she would recognize her smell
